Classical Music - Harpist: Geraldine McMahon

Geraldine McMahon

Geraldine McMahon began singing and playing the piano at an early age and later extended her musical talents by studying the concert harp.

She won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London where she followed a three year course with singing as the main study. On completing her studies, she moved to Ireland to take up a residency as a soloist at the well-known medieval Bunratty Castle.

Since then, her career has taken her around the world. She has spent several years touring the United States and appeared on numerous radio and television shows. Geraldine has held residencies in several prestigious London Hotels, including the Savoy and has played in many castles and historic buildings throughout England and Ireland.

She now performs on a freelance basis specialising in weddings, business functions and concerts. Her extensive repertoire consists of light classical, folk music and arrangements of popular songs and show tunes.

The superb Lyon and Healy gold and maple harp, which she currently uses, will add a memorable touch of elegance and sophistication to any special occasion.
