Jazz Band : Fret & Fiddle
One of the most glamorous and exciting Jazz Trio's in the U.K.
Fret & Fiddle draw inspiration from the small string bands of the 30's and 40's, and particularly from the most famous of all: the Quintette du Hot Club de France featuring Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt.
Stéphane Grappelli was the world's foremost jazz violinist, respected and loved by musicians and audience alike for his intuitive lyricism and fiery swing.
Fret and Fiddle's Violin virtuoso Salene carries the Grappelli flame playing fiery Gypsy swing fiddle tunes, Jazz and the top hits of Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, George Gershwin and Hoagy Carmichael and Grappelli's own songs.
They have made appearances at The Exeter Summer Music Festival, The Birmingham International Jazz Festival and the Prestigious Gypsy Jazz Festival L'Esprit Manouche.
