Comedian : Jasper Carrott
Jasper Carrott was born in Birmingham in 1945, and educated at Moseley Grammar School.
His first showbiz appearance was as resident singer at the Boggery Folk Club in Solihull.
There he discovered his talent for comedy, and the rest, they say, is history.
He is a superb stand up comedian. His first single, Funky Moped/Magic Roundabout, released in 1975 was a massive chart hit, selling over half a million copies. Since then he has gone on to complete sell out tours of the UK and abroad as well countless TV and radio shows.
Amongst his many awards are a Bafta in 1983 for the live TV series 'Carrotts Lib', the BBC 'Personality of the year Award' in 1992, and the 'Midlander Of The Year' award for 1995.
